Veteran point guard Cameron Payne won’t return to the New York Knicks next season. It’s not a surprise, given the Knicks have recently agreed to re-sign Landry Shamet, while adding another veteran point guard in Malcolm Brogdon. The Knicks are also returning Jalen Brunson and Miles McBride at the position next season.
Payne appeared in 72 games for New York last season, with five starts. The 10-year veteran averaged 6.9 points and 2.8 assists in 15.1 minutes per game.
Throughout his NBA career, Payne has played for seven different teams. In addition to the Knicks, Payne has suited up for the Oklahoma City Thunder, Chicago Bulls, Cleveland Cavaliers, Phoenix Suns, Milwaukee Bucks and Philadelphia 76ers.
