You Could Get Paid $2,000 to Eat at Las Vegas Buffets—Here’s How to Apply

If your dream Thanksgiving involves extravagant spreads, decadent carving stations, and elaborate dessert tables—all without having to wash a single dish—you may want to apply to be this year’s official Thanksgiving Buffet Tester.

For one lucky foodie, this fantasy will become a reality. Vegas Insider, best known for helping bettors read the odds, is pitting Sin City’s buffet tables against each other in search of the best holiday spread.

“Las Vegas doesn’t do Thanksgiving halfway,” a spokesperson for Vegas Insider told Travel + Leisure. “It’s a city built for indulgence, and this campaign celebrates the side of travel that’s all about taste and experience.”

The winner will be awarded $2,000 to use in executing their self-guided buffet tour, which will also cover travel and hotel costs. The official Thanksgiving Buffet Tester will share their ultimate ranking and highlights for the chance to be featured on the betting site and create at least one TikTok or Instagram video reviewing the experience.

To enter, applicants must submit a short explanation of why they are qualified to be this year’s Buffet Tester, submit their TikTok or Instagram handles, and be a United States resident 21 years old or over (it is Vegas, after all).

A panel of Vegas Insider editors will then evaluate entries based on creativity and originality, their sense of humor and entertainment value, and their enthusiasm for Las Vegas and food.

Applications must be submitted by 11:59 p.m. PT on Nov. 25, and the winner will be announced the next day, Nov. 26.

Vegas’ ubiquitous all-you-can-eat buffets have long drawn crowds for their indulgent nature with some planning entire trips around experiencing the decadent atmosphere. But in recent years the number of buffets have been in decline. A few years ago, there were more than 70 casino buffets, but now only about a dozen have survived, according to Eater Vegas.

Some of the most popular on the strip are in fan-favorite hotels like the Bellagio, the Wynn Las Vegas, the MGM Grand, and more, according to the Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority.

This also isn’t the first time a company has paid someone to taste-test Las Vegas’ buffets. In April, Casinos.org hired someone to eat their way through the city, including offering “$1,000 in cold, hard cash to live your best Vegas life.”

But for now the gravy’s still pouring, and voracious foodies need just apply. “You bring the appetite; we’ll bring the cash,” Vegas Insider promised.
