Reports indicate that a clause in his contract allowed Wolves to terminate the deal without the club being liable for the full payout.
Off the pitch, frustration had been brewing among the fan base. The coach was involved in a confrontational moment with supporters following a previous defeat to Burnley F.C., an exchange that appeared to accelerate the board’s decision.
