What’s Going on at the Venice Biennale?
Robert Lazzarini and curator John Ravenal will be representing the United States in the 2026 Venice Biennale! Wait, no. It’ll actually be sculptor Alma Allen, with curator Jeffrey Uslip. Maybe? Honestly, there’s a chance the US won’t even send a representative. That might be most fitting.

More Gold From the Louvre
Guess what the venerable Parisian museum’s security password was, according to PCWorld? Yep, you guessed it: “Louvre.” No, seriously. You really can’t make this stuff up.
Moves and Shake-Ups
- Sasha Suda was dismissed from her position as director and CEO of the Philadelphia Museum of Art — sorry, that’s actually the Philadelphia Art Museum, as of a month ago. What is happening? Read our report to find out.
- The Estate of Roger Brown is now represented by Gray Gallery.
- Danielle Charlap was appointed curator at the Wolfsonian–Florida International University in Miami Beach, Florida.
- Vasyl Cherepanyn will curate the 14th Berlin Biennale for Contemporary Art in 2027.

- Kwamé Azure Gomez is now represented by Marianne Boesky Gallery.
- Yoshitomo Nara is now represented by David Zwirner in collaboration with Joe Baptista, the artist’s agent and co-founder of Equivalence Art Agency. Nara’s longtime gallery, Pace, will apparently continue to “have a relationship with the artist.”

This Week’s Winners
- Maurizio Cattelan won the 2026 Preis der Nationalgalerie (the National Gallery Prize, for all you anglophones), one of Germany’s premier contemporary art awards. He’s also probably going to be a couple million dollars richer after a Sotheby’s auction in a few weeks.
- YoungEun Kim won the 2026 ACC Future Prize from South Korea’s National Asian Culture Center.
