The 21-year-old, on loan with an option to buy from Brighton & Hove Albion, has scored his first goal for Roma at the 11th time of asking. He had gone seven Serie A appearances and three Europa League outings without a goal following his move to the Stadio Olimpico over the summer.

Ferguson, who started on the bench against Cremonese on Sunday, has finally ended his year-long drought without a goal at club level, applying the finishing touches to send Roma 2-0 up in an eventual 3-1 victory away from home.

That was his first goal at club level since October 26, 2024, when he scored Brighton’s second in an eventual 2-2 draw with Wolverhampton Wanderers in the Premier League.

“It’s been a long time coming, but I’m glad to get it now and hope to get a few more,” Ferguson told DAZN Italia after full-time on Sunday.

“Of course, there have been lots of ups and downs, but hopefully I can get some good momentum after the injury, to start playing and get more goals.”
