Chelsea Gray and Kahleah Copper will be back with Rose BC to defend their Unrivaled title in 2026.
The league announced the rosters for its eight teams on Wednesday heading into its second season. Some stars were protected prior to the draft, a rule that allowed Rose to retain Gray and Copper. Unrivaled co-founders Napheesa Collier (Lunar Owls BC) and Breanna Stewart (Mist BC) stuck with their 2025 clubs as well.
Here’s how each squad stacks up:
Unrivaled added two new teams, Breeze BC and Hive BC, and the former could be one of the most fun to follow.
Paige Bueckers was the runaway Rookie of the Year winner after averaging 19.2 points and 5.4 assists for the Dallas Wings. She set a rookie record when she went off for 44 points in an August loss to the Los Angeles Sparks.
The more open style with Unrivaled’s three-on-three format should suit a playmaker such as Bueckers perfectly.
Joining her on the Breeze are two of the more promising young bigs in the WNBA.
Cameron Brink averaged 14.2 points, 12.1 rebounds and 3.8 blocks per 36 minutes for the Sparks, according to Basketball Reference. Head coach Lynne Roberts managed the 23-year-old’s playing time carefully as she was coming off a torn ACL, but she still flashed plenty of potential in a bench role.
Dominique Malonga, meanwhile, began finding her footing as the 2025 season unfolded. The Seattle Storm forward averaged 11.4 points on 57.6 percent shooting along with 6.7 rebounds and 1.3 blocks after the All-Star break.
When looking at some of the stacked rosters in Unrivaled, the Breeze don’t match up favorably. A core of Bueckers, Brink, Malonga and Sparks wing Rickea Jackson will at least provide some entertainment.
In general, the Unrivaled title race should be more wide open.
The Lunar Owls went 13-1 in the regular season and had a plus-170 point differential. Rose were second with an 8-6 record.
While the Lunar Owls kept Collier and Skylar Diggins, they lost Allisha Gray, Shakira Austin and Courtney Williams. In their places arrive Aaliyah Edwards, Marina Mabrey, Rachel Banham and Rebecca Allen. That’s a net-downgrade for coach DJ Sackmann because Gray and Williams are each multi-time All-Stars.
Collier might also be feeling the effects of the ankle injury that knocked her out midway through the 2025 WNBA playoffs.
The 2026 Unrivaled season is scheduled to tip off Jan. 5 in Miami. The campaign will take a brief pit stop to Philadelphia for a pair of games on Jan. 30, the first outside of the home base in South Florida.
Fans can once again follow the action on TNT and truTV or stream games through HBO Max.
