Sometimes, you just want a vacation that requires nothing beyond trotting between the beach and pool and back again. The Palms, which just unveiled a top-to-toe renovation of its pool deck (along with a new restaurant and other spruced up nuts and bolts), is the venue for that. Bring a stack of books and few plans other than dinner reservations. Room options span one, two, and three-bedroom suites, with high ceilings, plenty of natural light. Additionally, there are also eight penthouse suites for even more space. Penthouse suites also have outdoor showers if you’re the kind of traveler who fancies a rinse below the palm trees, and all suites come with spacious balconies to wind down on after a day of sun, many of which have excellent views of the ocean. The Palms is known for its spa, having clocked up a few awards for it over the years, and takes up an entire acre of the 12 the property spans. Once checked in, you could easily spend the whole day: There are tinkling water features and cabanas to retreat to before or after a treatment, as well as a sauna and steam room to dip in and out of as you please.
