Sunday League player Anthony Miller suffers ‘season-ending injury’ with a gruesome video of it going viral across social media this week.
Miller, of Newall Green, suffered a horrific knee injury when his foot caught in the pitch, but still managed to stay in high spirits, joking while being carried off.
The Wythenshawe based club shared the footage set to Michael Jackson’s “Thriller,” with it going on to get over 40,000 Instagram likes and counting.
The post was captioned: “The worst injury you’ll ever see. Miller is still in high spirits making us all laugh as always. Hot sauce.”
He joked: “I’ve strapped the wrong knee up” as he was being carried off by his teammates. The video recorder cheekily said they wanted an interview with him too.
Newall Green also included a WhatsApp voice note of Miller reacting to the injury: “Bro that is f**king mental… what am I doing.
“The club expressed full support, noting Miller’s season is over but they’ll stand by him through recovery.
In another post showed several photos of Miller being carried by his teammates: “Hot Sauce suffered a horrific knee injury during today’s cup match against @romileyfc. Unfortunately, this means his season is over before it even began.
“We want to send all our support and best wishes to him as he begins his recovery. We’ll be right by your side every step of the way.”
