LESSONS TO TAKE FORWARD
Skinner said United have no choice but to take the “medicine” that comes with defeat, having played so well – both domestically and in Europe – throughout the campaign up to this point.
“When you have when you have success for a period of time and then you don’t play well and you get your medicine, you have to take it,” the boss explained, noting that there will be lessons United can still take forward from this setback into the next run of games.
“You can’t take the plaudits and then not take the consequence of the loss. So, checks and balances. Today, we weren’t good enough, but I think there’s fixable things within that.
