- Partnership makes digitalisation accessible, supporting FMM’s 3,000 Smart Factories
- Both parties will provide training and events to speed up tech adoption and productivity
Siemens Malaysia and the Federation of Malaysian Manufacturers (FMM) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding to jointly advance Smart Factory readiness and workforce upskilling in alignment with the New Industrial Master Plan (NIMP) 2030. The collaboration was formalised during the Selangor Techsphere Summit 2025, held at the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre from 11–12 November.
The partnership aims to make digitalisation more accessible and impactful for manufacturers of all sizes, supporting FMM’s 3,000 Smart Factories initiative. Through this collaboration, Siemens and FMM will roll out training programmes, Smart Factory Readiness Assessments, and joint industry events designed to accelerate technology adoption and enhance productivity across Malaysia’s manufacturing landscape.
Tindaro Danze, president and CEO of Siemens Malaysia, said, “Our partnership with FMM reinforces Siemens’ commitment to Malaysia’s manufacturing community. We are enabling manufacturers to embrace digitalisation and smart factory technologies that enhance efficiency, sustainability and competitiveness — helping Malaysia advance towards its NIMP 2030 goals.”
Meanwhile, Soh Thian Lai, president of the Federation of Malaysian Manufacturing (FMM), added, “This partnership with Siemens represents a meaningful step forward in accelerating Smart Factory adoption among Malaysian manufacturers. Together, we are helping businesses gain the skills, tools and technologies needed to transition towards the next generation of manufacturing — one that is digital, sustainable and globally competitive.”
The MoU signing took place alongside the Selangor Techsphere Summit 2025, where Siemens served as Foundation Sponsor, reaffirming its leadership in driving Malaysia’s industrial transformation. Modelled after Germany’s Hannover Messe, the summit brought together industry, academia and government to advance innovation, sustainability and digital transformation.
At the event, the Siemens Pavilion showcased four key pillars of industrial innovation — IT/OT convergence, Artificial Intelligence, Digital Twins and its Partner Ecosystem — demonstrating how these technologies enable industries that are smarter, more resilient and sustainable.
Through IT/OT convergence, Siemens demonstrated the seamless integration of information and operational technologies that provide visibility and control across energy systems, buildings and production floors. AI illustrated how data can be transformed into real-time insights for predictive maintenance and intelligent automation, while Digital Twins showed how virtual replicas help businesses simulate and optimise operations before making real-world decisions — saving time, cost and resources.
The Pavilion also highlighted Siemens’ Partner Ecosystem — an interconnected network of technology providers and integrators delivering industry-specific solutions across sectors such as water treatment, data centres, semiconductor manufacturing and rail and transportation. Partners included Certech IA, Orange Leaf Consulting, Scheinen, Ener Tech Solutions, Cosmos Instruments, Dream Technology System, Universiti Malaysia Perlis and CNC Design.
By combining Siemens’ global expertise in automation and digitalisation with FMM’s extensive industry reach, both organisations are shaping a connected, future-ready manufacturing ecosystem that supports Malaysia’s long-term industrial transformation goals.
