Sheffield Wednesday fans announce further protest plans for upcoming matches and decision to boycott Grimsby game on Tuesday night.
The SWFC Supporters Trust have organised a screening of the Carabao Cup match against Grimsby at Wadsley Bridge WMC for fans boycotting due to dissatisfaction with owner Dejphon Chansiri.
Fans are urged to support local businesses (pubs, clubs) to keep the community thriving despite the boycott.
The Trust recommends boycotting club merchandise, in-stadium food/drink, League Cup fixtures, and non-season ticket matchday tickets.
Season ticket holders choosing not to attend are supported, and fans attending are encouraged to wear black and gold, display protest scarves, and join protests.
The Trust may call for a full boycott of one league fixture to highlight potential season ticket non-renewals if changes aren’t made.

SWFC SUPPORTERS TRUST STATEMENT:
“SWFC Supporters Trust – Grimsby Town Screening – Wadsley Bridge WMC ⚫🟡🦉
“Following the success of our Leeds United screening, we will once again be coming together on Tuesday night to watch our Carabao Cup tie against Grimsby Town away from Hillsborough, for those participating in the boycott.
“This is not about turning our backs on the team. This is about standing firm against Dejphon Chansiri’s failed ownership. Every ticket left unsold is another message sent loud and clear.
“At the Leeds screening we proved that we can boycott Hillsborough while still creating a Wednesday atmosphere. Surrounded by fellow Owls, voices raised as one.
“We invite you to join us again on Tuesday. Let’s stand shoulder to shoulder in solidarity, showing that our support for the players and our opposition to the owner can go hand in hand.
“We also recognise the lifeblood of matchdays for our city – the local pubs, clubs, and venues that rely on Wednesday fans for their business. We urge all Owls to continue supporting all local establishments, ensuring that while our absent owner loses, our community doesn’t.
“This is a none ticket event.

UPDATE:
BOYCOTT STANCE – SHEFFIELD WEDNESDAY SUPPORTERS TRUST
“THE TRUST CONTINUES TO RECOMMEND:
• Full boycott of all club merchandise and in-ground food & drink.
• Full boycott of all League Cup fixtures.
• Boycott of ‘non-season ticket matchday tickets.
“We sympathise with season ticket holders who choose not to attend your stance is respected and fully supported.
“We also understand that many supporters have already purchased tickets. To those criticising these fans: remember, the club already has their money.
IF YOU’RE ATTENDING:
• Wear black & gold.
• Display your Trust protest scarves (available at every fixture).
• Join in the protests with passion and unity.
“The Trust is also considering calling a total boycott of one league fixture to demonstrate to the chairman, in the starkest way possible, how many supporters will not be renewing season tickets unless change comes.
“Above all, we stress the need for unity. Infighting between fans only weakens the movement and plays into the chairman’s hands. Whether you’re boycotting, protesting inside the ground, or showing support in other ways we are all working towards the same goal: a better future for Sheffield Wednesday.”
MARINERS TRUST STATEMENT:
“To all Mariners heading to Sheffield, we want to help you make the most of your trip! Instead of buying food and drink inside the stadium you’ll find plenty of fantastic spots to grab a bite and a pint near the ground.
“Sheffield Wednesday supporters have even shared their recommendations! Grab a hot pork bun from the highly recommend Beres or traditional fish and chips from the chippy at the Leppings Lane end. If you’re looking for something familiar, there are also places like Burger King and Subway nearby.
“For a pre-match drink, away fans are welcome at The Railway on Penistone North Road and The Wellington on Henry Street. Because of a home fan boycott, you might find other pubs in the area are also happy to welcome you in. If you do find a spot that’s usually for home supporters, just be sure to be respectful.
“We also hope as many town fans as possible can show our solidarity with the the Owls fans plight by donning last seasons yellow shirt.
“Safe travels and UTM! @swfctrust”
Sheffield Wednesday Supporters’ Trust: “We want to share and echo the message from @MarinersTrust 👏
“We fully understand why Grimsby fans have purchased tickets – supporting your team is what football is all about. Criticism of their supporters is unwarranted.
“The solidarity shown is what matters most. Huge thanks to the Mariners Trust & wider fan base for committing to boycott all in-ground food and drink – a powerful show of unity.
“The allocation of additional tickets to Grimsby town, only further demonstrates the effectiveness of the boycott.”
