Since joining Al‑Nassr FC in January 2023, Cristiano Ronaldo has yet to lift a recognised major trophy with the Saudi Pro League side — despite participating in at least 13 official competitions.
Ronaldo’s arrival in Riyadh brought global fanfare and huge expectations. The five-time Ballon d’Or winner instantly became the club’s marquee figure, along with a new era for the Saudi league. But the silverware has continued to elude both him and the club.
In the 2022-23 and 2023-24 seasons, Al-Nassr finished as runners-up in the Saudi Pro League, while in 2024-25 they slipped to third. In each of those campaigns, Ronaldo led the attack, yet the team failed to convert his individual brilliance into collective team success.
Their near-misses extend to cup competitions. Al-Nassr reached the final of the 2024 King’s Cup but lost on penalties to Al-Hilal. In the 2025 Saudi Super Cup final they were again beaten — this time by Al-Ahli. The club has also participated in the AFC Champions League, but failed to go the distance, with Ronaldo experiencing his closest major run yet falling short in the knockout stages.
To be clear, Ronaldo has claimed one trophy since his arrival — the 2023 Arab Club Champions Cup. However, the competition is not formally recognised by FIFA as a major club title, and therefore his major-official trophy count remains at zero.
For a player whose career has been defined by triumphs — with league titles in England, Spain and Italy, and five Champions League crowns — the drought in Saudi Arabia is striking. Analysts suggest the issue is not Ronaldo’s form, but rather Al-Nassr’s broader inability to build a consistent title-winning team around him.
Despite the lack of silverware, Ronaldo remains a dominant force on the field. He has set scoring records in the Saudi Pro League and continues to influence games. The question now shifts to whether he can finally align personal performance with team success, and end this unexpected chapter in his storied career.
The spotlight will continue to shine on both Ronaldo and Al-Nassr as they strive to break the drought — and re-establish trophy contention this coming season.
