Formula 1 heads to Nevada this weekend for the Las Vegas Grand Prix, with only three rounds remaining to decide the 2025 drivers’ championship.

Lando Norris has been on a remarkable run of form lately, scoring a win in Mexico City and following it up with sprint and race victories at Interlagos in Sao Paulo. The back-to-back wins moved the McLaren driver 24 points clear in the standings heading into round 22 in Sin City.

With 83 points still up for grabs in the season, Norris knows there is no room for error and he has to keep his momentum going through the final rounds to secure his maiden championship title.

Meanwhile second-placed Oscar Piastri will need to put behind him a tough stretch that has seen him finish five consecutive races outside the podium and return to winning ways if he wants to keep his title hopes alive.

Max Verstappen, sitting 49 points behind the leader in third, also faces a critical task this weekend as he needs to avoid losing nine points or more to Norris to stay mathematically in contention heading to Qatar.

While Verstappen tasted victory in the inaugural race in 2023, McLaren has struggled in the first two runnings of the Las Vegas Grand Prix, never finishing higher than sixth in both qualifying and the race.

The Woking squad’s poor performance around the Las Vegas Strip Circuit and Red Bull’s advantage over them gives Verstappen hope to remain in contention for a fifth consecutive world title until at least round 23 at Lusail.
