Paris Saint-Germain were held to a 1-1 draw by Lorient as the Ligue 1 champions missed the chance to extend their lead at the top of the table.
Luis Enrique’s side had the opportunity to move four points clear of second-place Lens – who were beaten in their clash with Metz – but a largely lacklustre performance from the European champions means the gap is now just two points.
Marseille could leapfrog both Lens and PSG with victory over Angers later today.
Nuno Mendes gave PSG the lead only for Igor Silva to bring the hosts level just a few minutes later.
The Parisians, perhaps predictably, dominated possession but they were unable to break down a dilligent Loriet defence.
But after a goalless first-half that saw very few clear-cut chances, the visitors broke the deadlock within five minutes of the restart.
Vitinha, a half-time substitute, picked out Desire Doue on the right. The winger’s cross found Mendes at the far post, whose initial header was saved by Yvon Mvogo, but the Portuguese player tucked away the rebound.
The response, however, was instant. From Lucas Chevalier’s punch, Silva pounced on the loose ball and blasted a thunderous effort beyond the PSG keeper to level the score.
Mvogo then did well to prevent Vitinha, who had changed the game since coming on, from giving the champions the lead with just under 20 minutes remaining.
The hosts had a dangerous spell late on before Khvicha Kvaratskhelia drew another stop from Mvogo.
It proved to be the last action in a game where, not for the first time this season, PSG failed to produce their sparkling best.
