Gamers hoping to take control of Stephen Curry, LeBron James, Anthony Edwards, Victor Wembanyama and more NBA stars on some of the most famous streetball venues in the world won’t have to wait much longer.
Developer Play By Play Studios announced Wednesday it is releasing NBA The Run for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S and Steam on PC in 2026.
The game will feature fast-paced, 3 v. 3 basketball on the blacktop of venues such as the courts at Venice Beach, The Tenement in the Philippines and Rucker Park. There will be no shortage of stylish plays, high-flying dunks and dazzling dribbling in the up-tempo game.
What’s more, the biggest stars in the NBA will be available to control.
That means gamers can finally see what it would look like for Curry to send defenders flying with an ankle-breaking step-back before unleashing a silky-smooth three-pointer that soars over the blacktop at Rucker Park.
Or perhaps Edwards taking off from the free-throw line to throw down a tomahawk dunk at Venice Beach with the Pacific Ocean glistening in the background is more your speed?Â
Gamers will be able to do that as well.
Have no fear, Wembanyama fans. Defense will also be a key part of the game with physical play, diving for loose balls and monster blocks. Making the right plays on defense, especially in a 3 v. 3 setting, could be the difference between staying on the court or going home.
Players will have the opportunity to play solo or in squads while also facing off against top competition in online multiplayer Knockout Tournaments.Â
And they will have to earn the win to stay on the court and advance in those tournaments.
