Man critically injured in midtown stabbing; suspect in custody


Police say a suspect is in custody after a man was critically injured in a stabbing in midtown Toronto.

Investigators were called to Yonge Street and Berwick Avenue, south of Eglinton Avenue, just after 6:30 p.m. Friday for reports of a stabbing in the area.

When they arrived, they found a man suffering from stab wounds. He was taken to the hospital in life-threatening condition.

Police say a man was taken into custody a short time later. He was also taken to the hospital with minor injuries.

There is no immediate indication of what may have led up to the incident.
