Luca di Montezemolo analyses the crisis in Maranello

Former Ferrari president Montezemolo has once again analysed and criticised the current situation of the Maranello team, pointing out the many problems inside the Scuderia.
Ferrari, once more, unfortunately, as has been the case for almost 20 years, after many promises during the winter break, has brought to the track a car that is not at the level of the competition. Now, former president Montezemolo has stepped in to criticise and analyse the situation of the Prancing Horse. What is not working inside the team?

Considering how the 2024 season ended, just 14 points behind McLaren, the team that won the Constructors’ Championship, everyone would have expected a very different season. Today, after 16 Grands Prix, the gap between the two is more than 300 points, a huge margin. But above all, what worries most is that the first win of the season has yet to arrive. Among the four top teams, Ferrari is the only one still stuck at zero.

Because of all this, the historic former president Montezemolo, interviewed by Sky Sport F1, spoke about the situation inside the team. He explained that he saw the beautiful images of the many fans at Monza and then a team that, despite all the pre-season announcements, has not won a single race so far. He stressed that even if the team had won, after so many years the real goal must be to win the World Championship. He underlined that it has been many years since Ferrari has even arrived at the final race with a driver still fighting for the title. He added that he hopes things change, first of all for the fans who were at Monza and who continue to show unshakable faith.

Luca di Montezemolo continued in the interview, saying that today’s Ferrari has an even greater responsibility towards its supporters. What saddens him today, he said, is to see a Ferrari without a leader, lacking a strong and determined soul. He criticised the habit of making announcements that often create excessive expectations, noting that results must come first and only then can announcements be made.
