JunHe Law Offices has hired Wu Congsi and Liu Xingyu from Sidley Austin as partners at its Hong Kong office, subject to the completion of relevant formalities.
Wu and Liu have extensive experience in debt management and restructuring, having worked on several landmark transactions. These include the following offshore debt restructurings for Shimao Group (USD11.5 billion), SinoOcean Group (USD6 billion), China Fortune Land Development (USD5 billion), Times China Holdings (USD3 billion), Evergrande Group, Fantasia Group and Logan Group.
In the debt capital markets space, they have advised clients across a range of industries – including real estate, internet, shipbuilding, logistics and manufacturing – on the issuance of various types of bonds.
Both lawyers are admitted to practice in New York and practise in Hong Kong as registered foreign lawyers.
In addition to practising at several international law firms, Wu was also a co-founder of a startup. Liu also holds PRC legal qualifications and previously was a lawyer at the Beijing office of Zhong Lun Law Firm.
