Brazilian influencer Lary Simões has publicly alleged that Dutch-forward Memphis Depay is the father of her unborn child — and that he has since refused to discuss the situation or communicate with her.
According to Simões, the two first met at a birthday party in February 2025 and began a relationship soon afterwards. She claims she discovered she was pregnant just over a month ago, and sent Depay evidence of the positive test. She further alleges that upon learning the news, Depay “completely distanced himself” and has ignored all her messages.
Simões reportedly shared photos, which she says support her story — including a picture of herself wearing a signed Corinthians shirt carrying Depay’s name and an image of the pregnancy test. Depay currently plays for Brazilian club Sport Club Corinthians Paulista and the allegations have attracted significant media attention, both in Brazil and internationally.
Depay has not issued a public statement addressing the claims, and there has been no confirmation from his representatives. Meanwhile, Simões and her camp say that no lawyer representing Depay has contacted her about the matter.
The story has sparked debate on social media, with reactions varying between support for Simões and calls for investigation into the allegations. As of now, no official legal or club-level announcement has been made.
This development places Depay’s off-field matters under renewed scrutiny, at a time when he is trying to consolidate his career in Brazil. For his part, how he responds — both privately and publicly — may have implications not only for personal reputation but also for his professional standing.
