Preview for Houston Texans @ Seattle Seahawks
The Seattle Seahawks (4-2) return home to Lumen Field on Monday night looking to snap their surprising home struggles when they face the Houston Texans (2-3).
Seattle have been unbeatable on the road but inconsistent in front of their own fans, while Houston enter the clash refreshed off a bye week and buoyed by a statement win over the Baltimore Ravens.
Once one of the NFL’s most intimidating venues, Lumen Field hasn’t provided the edge it used to. Seattle went just 3-6 at home last season, their worst record in over 15 years, and have started this year 1-2 in their own building.
The Seahawks are thriving away from Seattle, having just beaten Jacksonville 20-12 to extend their franchise-record road win streak to nine games.
In that victory, Sam Darnold threw for 295 yards and two touchdowns, while Jaxon Smith-Njigba exploded for 162 receiving yards, including a 61-yard score.
Now, Seattle will aim to translate that road form into home success – and they’ll need their pass rush and defense to keep firing after a dominant showing that included seven sacks and holding Jacksonville to 59 rushing yards.
After starting 0-3, Houston have has rebounded with two straight victories, capped by a 44-10 demolition of Baltimore before their bye.
Quarterback CJ Stroud was named AFC Offensive Player of the Week, throwing for 244 yards and four touchdowns in the rout.
Offensively, the Texans are mixing things up at running back in the absence of Joe Mixon. Nick Chubb leads the way with 249 rushing yards and two scores, while rookie Woody Marks has impressed as a dual threat, adding 137 rushing yards, 96 receiving yards, and two total touchdowns.
