Harneys kickstarts Asia expansion with restructuring partner

Harneys has hired partner Ben McCosker to join its Shanghai office, bolstering the firm’s capabilities in litigation, insolvency and restructuring.

McCosker has more than 15 years of experience in commercial litigation, restructuring and insolvency. He has advised on shareholder disputes and restructuring transactions for offshore incorporated companies listed across Asia. He is admitted in Hong Kong, Bermuda and New South Wales in Australia.

Before joining Harneys, McCosker was a partner at the Shanghai office of Appleby. He has worked at leading law firms including Norton Rose Fulbright’s Sydney office , Hong Kong boutique firm Karas So, Walkers’ Hong Kong and Bermuda offices, and Mayer Brown’s Hong Kong branch.

McCosker’s appointment marked the start of Harneys’ expansion of its Asia practice, the firm said.
