The San Francisco 49ers have already been depleted by injuries this season, and a key member of the defense appeared to suffer a serious injury on Sunday.
In the first quarter of Sunday’s contest against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, All-Pro linebacker Fred Warner was carted off the field with a cast on his right foot. According to ESPN’s Jeff Darlington, the 49ers said Warner suffered an ankle injury.
