Jia Yuan Law Offices, Zhong Lun Law Firm, King & Wood Mallesons and Haiwen & Partners are advising parties involved in the largest M&A deal in China’s data centre industry to date, with HEC Technology’s RMB28 billion (USD4 billion) acquisition of WinTrix DC Group’s China operation.
HEC Technology and institutional investors have sealed an agreement with Bain Capital for the takeover. In this landmark transaction, Jia Yuan and Zhong Lun are acting as the HEC’s legal counsel.
Jia Yuan senior partner Wen Liangjuan led the team, with senior partners Wu Junchao and Daisy Qi, and senior counsel Liu Yue assisting. Senior partner Li Xinjun advised on antitrust matters.
Zhong Lun partners Gary Li, Shirley Lu and Wang Boxin led the team, supported by partner Chen Jian.
Representing Bain Capital and WinTrix DC Group, King & Wood Mallesons deployed a team of more than 70 lawyers, led by partner Huang Ling. Partners Han Yue, Fang Wei, Peng Fu, and counsel Hu Jiamo were among the key contributors.
Haiwen & Partners also advised Bain Capital, with partner Jiang Weibo leading the team, supported by partners Lu Xuemei, Wang Lei and Wu Shan.
HEC Technology, a leader in electronic materials with ventures in biomedicine and health and wellness, aims to bolster its liquid cooling technology and intelligent robotics businesses through this acquisition.
WinTrix DC Group is a leading data centre solutions provider, with TikTok’s parent company ByteDance among its key clients.
