The European Women’s International Leadership Award (EWILA) 7th edition ceremony took place on November 3, marking a significant moment in the recognition of women leaders worldwide.
This year, eight laureates were honored, representing diverse geographical areas and sectors.
They are:
Najla Alshami (Yemen/Belgium),
Khadija Bendam (Morocco),
Violeta Bulc (Slovenia),
Nasancia Charles (Jamaica/USA),
Klaudia Fliegelova (Slovakia/Italy),
Rahwa Kinfe (Tigray/Ethiopia),
Elis Lovric (Istria/Croatia),
Christine Schuler Deschryver (Democratic Republic of the Congo).
The jury members were Marième Albertini, Radouan Bachiri, Björn Hultin, Frank Schwalba-Hoth, and Svetlana Spaic.
For his part, the founding president of EWILA, Radouan Bachiri, stated that this initiative, now in its seventh year, aims to “recognize, value, and encourage women who have distinguished themselves in various fields by bringing about lasting change in their communities,” noting that this award celebrates perseverance, commitment, and female leadership in all its forms.
This prestigious European prize annually recognizes women with exceptional careers, committed to transforming their societies and promoting their disciplines internationally, he added.
The awards were presented by Brussels Member of Parliament and former Secretary of State Gisèle Mandaila.
The ceremony took place in the presence of ambassadors, diplomats, European dignitaries, and representatives from the political, academic, and civil society spheres.
The EWILA 2025 ceremony was a significant moment of celebration and mobilization.
