Dolly Parton Is Opening a Highway Travel Stop in Tennessee—and More Are on the Way

Dolly Parton is hitting the road, announcing a brand-new travel center on the highway in the South.

The new Dolly’s Tennessean Travel Stop is expected to open in summer 2026 in the town of Cornersville, Tennessee, just north of the Alabama border. The country music icon said additional locations are then planned across Tennessee and beyond.

“Whether you are driving a truck, a bus, or a car, you want a place that feels like home and recharges you for the rest of your journey,” Parton said in a statement. “I believe we will fill a void out there on the highways, all while bringing the heart and soul of Tennessee.”

The famed singer and inductee into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame said the concept came from her years of life on the road touring, giving her a true front-row seat to the realities of traveling on highways.

“I have spent the bulk of my life on the road, and more specifically on a bus,” Parton said. “All the years spent visiting greasy spoon cafes, truck stops, and roadside pit stops have given me an understanding of what travelers desire on the road.”

The new travel stop will revamp the current Cornersville flagship location of the Tennessean Travel Stop. And while many of the details are being kept tightly under wraps for now, the company said there will be updated, “curated” dining, modern amenities, and “authentic regional retail.”

“The Tennessean has long been a ‘home away from home’ for truck drivers, travelers, and locals alike. Our roots in this community run deep—we’ve created jobs, built connection, and welcomed generations of people through our doors,” Gregory H. Sachs, the chairman and CEO of the Tennessean Travel Stop and Sachs Capital Group, said in the statement. “This new partnership allows us to carry that legacy forward in a way that celebrates everything special about Tennessee. Together with Dolly and her team, we’re reimagining what a travel stop can be—transforming it into a warm, inviting destination where everyone feels welcome to slow down, kick up their feet, and stay awhile.”

The new travel stop is Parton’s latest venture into the travel space. Her namesake Dollywood theme park in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee, has been a fan favorite for years and was recently named the No. 1 theme park in the United States based on Tripadvisor reviews, outranking Walt Disney World’s Magic Kingdom and Universal Orlando Resort’s Islands of Adventure.
