Daniel Farke gives his response to anger from Leeds fans after the 3-1 defeat at Nottingham Forest on Sunday afternoon.
Forest come from behind to secure their first Premier League win under manager Sean Dyche, Lukas Nmecha putting Leeds ahead, but Ibrahim Sangare levelled, then Morgan Gibbs-White headed Forest in front, with Elliot Anderson sealing all three points for the hosts with a late penalty.
Forest were deserved winners despite a poor game, stay 19th in the Premier League table with 9 points, two behind Leeds.
As per Yorkshire Evening Post, some of those in the away end applauded, while plenty directed angry gestures towards Farke and his players.
On what he could say to fans after struggling to create, Farke responded: “It’s quite normal you’re disappointed and angry after a loss, as we all are overall. Small details are always decisive for the outcome of the game. There were a few details where we were not good enough.
“After a really good start – we had addressed this, we wanted to start better and we went in the lead – we should do more than to give this away so cheaply, we should have been more on it, more pressure on the ball, in the duel, gave it too cheap away.
“The second decisive moment of the game was the 2-1. Big mistake of the referee, the only one in the stadium who saw the foul on Stach was a foul against him. They put the ball long, score a goal out of this. I would have preferred to play out of the rules. But self critical, second ball when the ball comes in, we should have marked the striker better.”
On anger from fans: “It’s quite normal that the fanbase of Leeds United is emotional. Everyone was doubting after each loss last season and we finished with 100 points.
“Everyone has the right to be a bit critical, we’ve conceded three goals in the last two away games. We could have made our life more easy with some points, that’s for sure.
“We have to return back to our best behaviour in terms of defending like the start of the season when we were really good.
“I didn’t expect before the season started and with how the transfer window turned out that it would be an easy smooth ride this season, never in danger.
“We have 11 games, 11 points, the points average we need to stay in this league, we’ve never been in the relegation zone.
“Could have been better but if I’m honest, in my dream version we cruise easily and right now it’s all a bit tighter but it’s nothing making us panic.
“The outside world, we can’t influence it much. We’re quite calm. We had a difficult run of games with three away games in the last four games.
“We know we’re a bit more likely to win our home games. We want to win points in away games and have to return back to more defensive stability, more than we’ve shown in the last two games.”
Forest fans also had a good laugh after Anderson’s goal, with Leeds fans leaving the Trent End Hospitality…

Leeds boss Daniel Farke, speaking to Sky Sports: “Best league in the world and it’s small details. We have the goal away too cheaply. The referee was the only one in the stadium who saw a fall for my player the other way around. Long ball comes in and goal. What can I do?
“I don’t know. In the end, it doesn’t make sense to say too much. All that matters is the goals. No one will speak about the mistakes of the referee in a few weeks. We need to go back to making clean sheets. We didn’t give much but we need to improve.
“We could have made our life easier after the West Ham home win. We have back-to-back losses. Difficult places in Brighton and Forest. I didn’t expect a smooth, easy ride through the season. We will regroup and work.
Farke, speaking to Match of the Day 2: “Football games on this level are decided with small details. We have to make sure we are more switched on. We concentrate on the things we can influence and should have defended the cross situation. It was crucial.
“We didn’t didn’t follow their full-back and that can happen but not after we’ve just celebrated. We lost two 50/50 duels and then the cross comes in. We could have defended the situation more competitively.
“Dominic [Calvert-Lewin] has not trained the whole week. He had the ability to play about 30 minutes or whatever.
“We know our home form is always important. We could have made our life easier with some away points but it is how it is. I did expect a tricky period. We have conceded too many goals in the last two away games.”

Nottingham Forest boss Sean Dyche, speaking to BBC MOTD: “Very pleased for everyone. The players have spoken openly about going through a lot. They’ve accepted how we’re doing things and have accepted the squad game. They know the fixture list. We should have won in the week but we put that right today.
“We can’t guarantee a quick equaliser but we did it against Manchester United and did it again today. It was good today with the fans playing their part as they so often do here.
On Hutchinson: “I had already spoken to him but credit to him. I can only guide him in the right direction. The price tag has nothing to do with him. He needs to just enjoy his football. He’s done terrific when he came on.
On Gibbs-White: “Scored again. That’s what you want from the players. He’s going about his business. The stories go away and he can relax and carry on. It’s professional. Morgan has gone through a bit of noise.”
Dyche, speaking to Sky Sports: “It’s a sign of the mentality changing. We were on a run of one loss in five now. It’s good to get that winning feeling back. Awkward game for many reasons. We had to use the squad. We have to work with the players and continue the growth.
What was asked of subs: “A bit of energy and spark. As soon as I came in, the fixture list is what it is. Omari has done well. I spoke to him and said You’re still young in the Premier League and he’s come in and activated. It’s all we can ask from them.
On Hutchinson: “I hope he does. He’s still earning his spurs in football. I said the price has nothing to fo him. Just go out there and play your football. It’s all about the players, we try and do everything for them and guide them in the right direction.
“Trying to get the players through this spell of injuries and getting them fit. We’re trying to iron out all the kinks in what we do.”

Nottingham Forest captain Morgan Gibbs-White, speaking to BBC MOTD: “Not bad. Just delighted the boys have three points. They’re a good physical side. I thought we dominated from minute one to minute 90. Hopefully, we can climb up the table.
“Fair play to Omari, he’s been going through a tough period. It was all his work, I was just in the box.
“It was that extra bit of pressure because we needed to get the points on the table. When we got our chances, we took them. We focus on the next game now.
On missing out on England squad: “That’s football and the competition of the England squad. Incredible players I’m fighting for a spot. All I can do is focus on Nottingham Forest, that’s all I can do. Personally, it’s been a tough couple of months in the season.
“He [Thomas Tuchel] had a conversation with me after the Europa League game. He’s a really honest guy and the fact that he called me to tell me I wasn’t in the squad, I really appreciated that.
“We’ve struggled to settle with the changes. We are the players and it’s down to us. That’s all we can do and concentrate on ourselves and kick on.”
