Aston Villa will look to maintain their remarkable resurgence when they host Young Boys in the Europa League tonight.
Unai Emery’s men have won nine of their last 11 games in all competitions and are sitting pretty in the Premier League and Europa League tables.
Sunday’s victory at Leeds pushed Villa into the top four in the domestic top flight while they have lost just one of four European ties.
They have still yet to hit top gear but Emery has been pleased with how they have ground out results after a slow start.
He said: “You have to feel it, when you are struggling you have to be resilient. We still have work to do building the team, some players joining us need more time and some are not playing, they need to feel comfortable with us. But we are getting results through the commitment of the players.
“The good results come with confidence and how we react inside. In the moment we were not performing well and were not together. It starts with me, and the players following and sharing the message.”
Young Boys, meanwhile, have taken a mixed route through their campaign. A harsh 4-1 defeat to Panathinaikos set them back early on, but wins over Steaua Bucharest and Ludogorets showed what they are capable of.
A 4-0 loss at PAOK last time out halted that momentum, but they remain only three points behind Villa in the table.
Young Boys are third in the Swiss Super League and thrashed bottom side Winterthur 5-0 at the weekend.
