Club Med Punta Cana Resort Renovation

  • Club Med Punta Cana, the brand’s flagship North American resort, has undergone a sweeping renovation that includes a collection of new social spaces, culinary venues, and refreshed guest rooms.
  • A breezy lounge in the welcome area is surrounded by greenery and sweeping ocean views, while the Costa del Coco Deluxe Rooms now include spa-style bathrooms with rain showers and private balconies.
  • The resort’s main dining venue has also been reimagined with five distinct culinary experiences.

Club Med, the brand that pioneered the all-inclusive concept 75 years ago, has unveiled a sweeping transformation to its flagship North American resort in Punta Cana. The renovation introduces a collection of new social spaces, refreshed guest rooms, and buzzy culinary venues.

“These renovations were designed to embody our core ethos of l’esprit libre [free spirit], while celebrating our heritage and embracing innovation and modernity,” says Carolyne Doyon, president and CEO of Club Med North America and the Caribbean. “Guests will still find the warm, authentic Club Med experience they love, but now enhanced with a new sense of sophistication and elevated comfort that reflects the next chapter of our all-inclusive evolution.”

Conceived by GG&Grace International, an award-winning design firm behind projects for Fairmont, NH Collection, and Le Meridien, the redesign draws on the Dominican Republic’s vibrant palette and lush natural landscapes. “We sought to capture the essence of the island—from its energy and colors to its serene coastal beauty,” Doyon says.

Among the new additions is the Buena Vista Lounge, a breezy, open-air welcome area surrounded by greenery and sweeping ocean views. Meanwhile, the Costa del Coco Deluxe Rooms offer a peaceful retreat inspired by the region’s coconut-lined shores, complete with spa-style bathrooms and private balconies.

Dining gets its own refresh with three new venues anchoring the resort’s transformation. The Coffee Shop serves tropical-inspired treats and coffees in a laid-back venue. The poolside Joia Bar, modeled after a traditional Dominican casita, overlooks the lagoon pool and the sea, offering light bites, appetizers, and cocktails. And El Mundo Food Club, the new main dining concept, brings together five globally inspired restaurants: French cuisine at Loulou; Latin flavors at Chula; Asian fare at Kyo; Mediterranean dishes at Soléa, and grilled specialties at Smokey’s, all set against soaring wood-beamed ceilings and floor-to-ceiling windows.

The transformation comes as Club Med continues to adapt its legacy all-inclusive model to the tastes of modern travelers, who increasingly seek effortless convenience and authentic experiences.

“These new concepts build upon the signature elements that our guests already cherish at Club Med—freedom, connection, and joy—while introducing a heightened level of sophistication and discovery,” Doyon adds. “Together, these enhancements create a richer, more immersive experience that invites guests to feel at ease, indulge fully, and connect more deeply with the destination and with each other.”

The current starting nightly rate at Club Med Punta Cana is $373, based on double occupancy. You can book your stay at clubmed.us.
