The Chicago Bears had a rough start to the season, losing their first two games, but they picked up a big win on Saturday.
The Bears thrashed the Dallas Cowboys 31-14 behind a stellar performance from quarterback Caleb Williams. Now, Williams and Chicago finally have some momentum on their side.
“It just builds confidence within the whole team,” Williams told reporters after the game.
The Bears haven’t had much of a reason to be confident about their squad in a long time. Chicago finished the 2024 campaign losing 10 of its last 11 games and opened the Ben Johnson era with losses to the Minnesota Vikings and Detroit Lions. The loss to the Lions was especially bad as the Bears fell 52-21.
Chicago still has a long way to go before it should be considered a playoff contender, but the Bears appeared to have things a bit more figured out on Sunday.
Williams had a particularly encouraging performance with 298 passing yards and four touchdowns.
