Bosnich, like Overy, received his maiden call-up before he had made a senior appearance.
In 1990, he came on as a substitute for the Socceroos in a friendly game against Russian club side Torpedo Moscow.
The keeper made his Reds debut a few months later, keeping a clean sheet in a 0-0 draw against Wimbledon at Old Trafford.
After three games in that first spell as a youngster, he later returned to the club in 1999 to replace Peter Schmeichel, arriving on a free transfer from Aston Villa.
Overy will be hoping to follow in Bosnich’s footsteps by getting some minutes, with the aim of forcing himself into the squad for next year’s World Cup finals.
