AI takes the lead in Latin America’s industrial transformation

Artificial intelligence (AI) is already taking center stage in Latin America’s industrial transformation. The UN, in fact, signaled that the technology may be the key for sustainable, productive and inclusive development in the region.

However, “maximizing its opportunities and minimizing its potential threats requires reflection, strategic vision, regulation, and regional and multilateral coordination,” the UN noted

In Argentina, the Ministry of Human Capital has already bet on AI to reform education, and sectors like manufacturing and energy have gradually begun to integrate predictive maintenance and smart asset management systems to cut costs and improve efficiency. As public and private sectors alike seek to integrate AI responsible, opportunities for connection with industry giants is essential.

Rooted in these pillars, and seeking to build on AI’s momentum in the region, the Héroes del Mantenimiento Summit will welcome speakers from around the globe from October 29 to 30 to explore how the technology and wider automation processes are reshaping maintenance, leadership and sustainability.

Organized by Fracttal, a leading provider of maintenance management solutions and a pioneer in asset management technologies with branches in Latin America, Madrid and the U.S., the event will merge high-impact content, immersive digital experiences, and a practical focus on AI.

The fourth edition of the Héroes del Mantenimiento conference will be held in a hybrid format, with Portuguese translation for Brazil’s maintenance professionals. Over two days, attendees will gain access to four hours of live content per day, featuring international experts like Santiago García, Technical Director of Renovetec and Victor Rubiano, Founding Partner at AELT.

Day one will dive into practical applications of AI, featuring real world applications that illustrate adequate process automation, while day two will cover sustainability, ethics and leadership in an automatized age.

Under the “AI for the Future Leaders of Maintenance” theme, Héroes del Mantenimiento strives to foster critical collaboration and exchange between professionals across the industry, as well as innovators and key stakeholders. Through it, Fracttal has also reaffirmed its commitment to consolidating Latin America as a global benchmark for industrial technology and sustainability.

“This year’s edition dives into the ideas shaping the future: automation that empowers people,; AI applied in the field; leadership and the human side of reliability,” said Christian Struve, Co-Founder and CEO at Fracttal.

“In an era where AI is redefining asset and maintenance management, staying up-to-date and sharing knowledge is more important than ever,” he added.

The company believes collaboration now is imperative for pushing Latin America towards digital transformation. As 84% of employers in the region are planning to upskill their workforces in the coming years due to AI reshaping labor demands, more spaces for connection are not only needed- they are essential.

“AI and automation only reach their true potential when they serve the people who make maintenance possible. Our challenge is to ensure that technology amplifies their impact- not replaces it,” Ricardo Román, CSO at Fracttal, concluded.
