A few days ago Paulo Dybala turned 32, and once again he is working to recover from yet another injury – one that has already forced him to miss a couple of matches.
With his contract expiring on June 30, it’s only natural that Roma are now entering, and will continue over the next weeks, a deeper phase of reflection about his future.
First premise: his current salary, around €8 million, is completely out of scale. Any eventual offer will be significantly lower.

Last summer there was an attempt to spread the salary over a longer period, but it didn’t go anywhere.
Roma weigh up Dybala contract amid injuries & cost
Now it’s time to draw conclusions, starting from two simple truths.
Dybala’s quality has never been in question, but his repeated muscular problems will inevitably weigh on the final decision, which must be made with sustainability in mind.
We will also have to understand the size and structure of Roma’s eventual proposal, and whether it aligns with Dybala’s expectations.

The Argentine has always made it clear that he feels at home in the capital, but goodwill alone cannot settle the economic and physical considerations now on the table.
