Terrell Owens Explains Why He Understands A.J. Brown’s Frustration with Eagles’ Play

Hall of Famer Terrell Owens empathized with A.J. Brown as the Philadelphia Eagles wide receiver has provided not-so-subtle hints about his frustration with the state of the offense.

“If you’re in an offense, especially with [Brown] being WR1, you want to be involved in the offense,” Owens said Friday in an appearance on Good Day Philadelphia. “I don’t blame him, that’s an offensive coordinator thing.”

The retired wideout added that “I truly understand where he’s coming from” because “you have to utilize the guy based on his skill set.”

Brown has caught 31 passes for 408 yards and three touchdowns. His 51 yards per game are on pace to be a career low.

At multiple points, the three-time Pro Bowler has hinted at being upset with his on-field usage and the offense as a whole. Most recently, he suggested in an online Madden stream his season has been a “s–t show” and quipped fantasy football managers should “get rid of me.”

We haven’t yet reached the point where Brown is working out in front of reporters in his driveway.

That was the scene Owens famously created in 2005 when he was sent home from Philly’s training camp amid a contract dispute. He later received a suspension from the team following a confrontation with teammate Hugh Douglas.

Thankfully for the Eagles this time around, Brown has kept things professional on the field while causing some headaches for head coach Nick Sirianni off it.
