Goals from Bukayo Saka and Eberechi Eze secure England Group K top spot in World Cup qualifications (Video)

England beat Serbia in the penultimate round of the World Cup qualifications at Wembley on Thursday, maintaining a perfect record in the campaign before their trip to Tirana for the final game against Albania.

Arsenal star Bukayo Saka struck first in the 28th minute, capitalizing on a favourable rebound inside Serbia’s box with a nicely placed volley. Eberechi Eze, Saka’s Arsenal teammate, set the final scoreline to 2-0 in the 90th minute by finishing a fine counterattack with a powerful shot past Predrag Rajković in the away goal.

Despite the absence of the nation’s leading goalscorer Aleksandar Mitrović, Serbia did have a few chances to make the contest more interesting, much more so than when the two sides met in Belgrade, and there will surely be positives for newly appointed coach Veljko Paunović to take from Wembley.

Still, his team were outplayed by an opponent of obviously higher class.
