SOFIA – We call on Russia to cease its unacceptable actions of disrupting satellite signals of European countries, stated the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Bulgaria in a post on the platform “X”.

Before the next meeting of the Radio Regulations Board (RBB) of the International Telecommunication Union from November 10 to 14, we strongly condemn these unacceptable actions and call on Russia to stop them. The Bulgarian Foreign Ministry adds that Russia continues to disrupt satellite signals and signals from radionavigation satellite systems, which affects the critical infrastructure and services of European countries.

In September, the European Commissioner for Defense Andrius Kubilius stated that the European Union will deploy additional satellites in low Earth orbit to enhance resilience against GPS disruptions and will improve capabilities for their detection. (November 10)
