What happened in the 2nd Knokke-Heist jewellery store robbery?

According to officials, several pieces of valuable jewellery were taken. Authorities believe the suspect acted alone, but they have not ruled out the possibility of accomplices.

“There’s still no sign of the perpetrator,”

Desmet continues.

Knokke-Heist police have launched a full investigation and are reviewing footage from the town’s camera network. They are working to trace the suspect and gather all possible evidence. Officers are asking anyone who saw suspicious activity in the area early yesterday to come forward. No arrests have been made so far.

“Because these are serious facts, we have also informed the West Flanders public prosecutor’s office,”

Desmet added.

This is the 2nd serious robbery at the same jewellery store in 3 years. In 2023, thieves stole jewellery worth about €1 million. A female employee was threatened with a firearm and tied up during the robbery. Police treated the 2023 robbery as a major criminal case and carried out a full investigation.
