Junko Suetomi
Greenberg Traurig has expanded its Japan practice with the addition of international trade and customs specialist Junko Suetomi as a shareholder in its Tokyo office, strengthening the team led by managing shareholder Koji Ishikawa.
Suetomi joined Greenberg from Baker McKenzie’s Tokyo office, where she served as a partner leading the firm’s international trade and dispute resolution practice. Admitted in Japan and New York, she specialises in commercial and trade law, WTO disputes, civil and criminal litigation, and antitrust law, among other areas.
Before joining Baker McKenzie, Suetomi worked in the WTO dispute settlement division of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs’ Economic Bureau. She has advised clients on trade remedies, antitrust compliance programmes, customs issues and disputes with government entities.
Outside her legal practice, she has served as an expert member of the Ministry of Finance’s Council on Customs, Tariff, Foreign Exchange and Other Transactions, among other roles.
