Stephenson Harwood
Stephenson Harwood has appointed Peter Lee as a partner at its Hong Kong office, bolstering the firm’s maritime, trade and offshore practice across Greater China.
With 24 years of experience, Lee was previously an asset finance partner at Reed Smith, focusing on maritime matters, including liquefied natural gas, offshore oil and gas, and cruise ship transactions. He has advised shipowners, energy companies, banks and leasing companies worldwide on China-related deals.
His practice also encompasses all types of sale, leasing and financing of vessels, syndicated lending, equipment financing, and cross-border transactions for financial institutions and investors across Asia.
Lee has provided legal advice to China Merchants Energy on projects exceeding USD2.5 billion in its bidding and negotiation processes, and since 2003 has advised China COSCO Shipping Group on shipping-related financings totalling more than USD6.8 billion.
Stephenson Harwood had built a large and experienced maritime team in Greater China, and Lee’s arrival further reinforced its reputation as the leading maritime and energy law firm in the region, the firm said.
