Fresh off a successful Copenhagen Fashion Week debut, Iamisigo returned home to Lagos, Nigeria. For spring 2026, founder and creative director Bubu Ogisi transformed part of luxury retailer Temple Muse into a weird and wonderful tea party—reminding us once again that Iamisigo is more than a fashion brand. There’s a whole universe full of artisanal, handcrafted goods that are worth exploring.

The presentation space was bare, except for an acrylic dining table and chairs, decorated with Iamisigo products, from a black and white checkered tablecloth to the glassware. Handwritten text and doodles were drawn all over the Temple Muse’s walls; hidden behind the chaos were “snippets from the dual mandate book,” depicting the “Scramble for Africa,” said Ogisi, referring to the historical moment when the West fought over how the continent should be divided. “These are words that have existed 100 years before us,” she said. “We have to counteract that by knowing ourselves and knowing what was done in the past.”

Research played a pivotal role in the development of this collection. Ogisi traveled across the continent to Kenya, Nigeria, Ghana, and South Africa, where she worked with local artisans and craftsmen to build contemporary garments rooted in craftsmanship. Key looks included a silver handcrafted metallic dress and a beaded blue vest with matching fringed trousers. Iamisigo’s signature hand-blown glass bags, made from recycled glass in Kenya, underscored Ogisi’s ability to seamlessly blend fashion and art.

In true Ogisi fashion, the show was nothing short of theatrical. Models morphed into moving sculptures, eerily navigating their way around the dining table. “This was an informational little play, I wanted people to experience [this collection] in a different way here in Lagos,” she said. Despite putting on a big performance in Copenhagen, the plan was always to return home and share the collection with those who have long supported the brand.
