Ruben’s Reds drew 2-2 in an enthralling Premier League encounter with Sean Dyche’s Forest on Saturday afternoon, played one year to the day that Amorim was appointed as our head coach.
With Casemiro putting United ahead in the first half at The City Ground, it looked at half-time that our head coach’s landmark day may be marked with a win, but a second-half fightback from Forest ensured a different outcome.
The home side netted twice in quick succession after the break but, despite the swift shift in emotions, Amorim saw his team remain in check and take a point from Nottingham after a stunning late equaliser from Amad.
That response to a tough period in the middle of the game was particularly pleasing for Ruben, who understandably had mixed feelings while conducting his post-match media duties, but opted to remain encouraged by what he had seen.
Scroll down to see what he had to say about the game, goals and late hero Amad, in interviews with MUTV and BBC Match of the Day…
