Church of Scientology Volunteer Ministers Lead 40 Civic Actions Across the Czech Republic in October

From Prague to Brno, Scientology volunteers are transforming ethics and compassion into visible community change.

KINGNEWSWIRE / PRESS RELEASE / Prague, Czech Republic — October 31, 2025 — Throughout the month of October, volunteer ministers (VM) of theChurch of Scientology mobilized across the Czech Republic to restore public spaces, help local charities and instill a new civic spirit in four major cities: Prague, Brno, Plzeň and Pelhřimov.

In just four weeks, they organized more than 40 eventsbringing together hundreds of hours of volunteering as part of environmental and humanitarian actions inspired by The path to happinessthe common sense moral code written by L. Ron Hubbard.

Collective effort, measurable impact

Every week, 15 to 20 volunteers joined forces in at least eleven community activitiesdevoting 117 hours of service, to which are added 100 hours additional costs for large-scale cleaning in Brno. This single initiative in Brno made it possible to fill 150 bags of wastetransforming neglected land into usable green spaces. In Plzeň, volunteers tackled an abandoned forest site left in unsanitary conditions after makeshift camps, removing dangerous debris with care and respect.

“These are not very glamorous tasks,” commented one volunteer. “But if we don’t take responsibility, who will? Every cleanup aims to restore dignity — to our environment, to our neighbors and to ourselves. »

Cooperation across borders

This month was also marked by concrete interfaith cooperation. Volunteers collected and delivered clothing donations to a Catholic charityreflecting a spirit of solidarity that transcends beliefs.

Ivan Arjonarepresentative of the Church of Scientology to theEuropean Union, OSCE, Council of Europe and United Nationshighlighted the broader meaning of such a service:

“Helping is a universal language. Whether working alongside a church, a town hall or a neighbor in need, our volunteers act with the belief that a better society begins with better people, those who choose to care and take action. »

A tradition of service

Created by L. Ron Hubbard in the 1970s, the program of volunteer ministers equips individuals with practical skills to bring order and compassion in times of need. Recognized throughout the world for their humanitarian actions and social projects, these volunteers dressed in yellow shirts are today active in more than 120 countries.

In the Czech Republic, their commitment to community service continues to grow, combining effective organization with moral values. Their long-standing motto, “We Can Do Something,” resonates with citizens seeking constructive ways to contribute to civic life.

Ethics in daily action

Many Czech volunteers also distribute the booklet The path to happiness during their activities. Written as a secular moral guide, it presents 21 precepts which encourage self-respect, honesty and environmental responsibility, principles which are reflected in the volunteers’ weekly initiatives.

These small but regular actions illustrate how ethical education and civic engagement reinforce each other. “When people take personal responsibility, society becomes stronger and more compassionate,” Arjona said.

Local recognition and continued momentum

Municipal representatives from Prague, Brno and other cities praised the constant contribution of VMs. Their visible and active presence, from cleaning paths to maintaining parks, encouraged residents to join them or launch their own local initiatives.

One participant summed up the month succinctly: “We didn’t wait for someone else to fix the problem, we just got to work. »
