Authorities allege a Nebraska teacher and her partner lured a high school student into a sexual situation; both face life in prison if convicted.
Nebraska teacher and her boyfriend have been charged with sex trafficking after a high school student accused them of inappropriate behavior, prompting a Police investigation that has shocked the local education community.
Elizabeth Jamie Love, 36, and her boyfriend, Jarid “Jack” Krause, both from Holdrege, were arrested and charged with Felony Sex Trafficking of a Minor, the Holdrege Police Department announced on Thursday October 23, 2025. Love also faces an additional felony count of Sexual Grooming by a school employee.
Authorities say the allegations came to light on Tuesday October 14, 2025, when a report of possible sexual abuse involving a teenage girl was filed. Police did not identify the student’s school but confirmed that Love worked for Education Service Unit 11 (ESU-11), which provides teaching support to more than a dozen schools in South-Central Nebraska.
According to an affidavit obtained by local media, the student — who is currently enrolled in high school — told investigators that she overheard a phone conversation in August in which Krause allegedly told Love he wanted to have sex with her.

The affidavit further alleges that on Saturday October 11, 20025, Love picked the girl up in her car and drove her to her home, where Krause reportedly led the student to an upstairs bedroom and made a sexual request. The girl said she refused and asked to leave, which Krause allowed.
Police reviewed surveillance footage allegedly showing Love following the girl in a black Dodge Durango before picking her up. The student later told investigators that Love apologized afterward, warned her not to speak about the encounter, and handed her $100 — which Love later said was a gift for a new phone, not an attempt to buy her silence.
Both suspects are being held in the Phelps County Jail on $250,000 cash bonds. Their first court appearance is scheduled for the morning of Monday October 27, 2025, in Phelps County Court.
Authorities said they are unaware of other potential victims but have urged anyone with information to contact the Holdrege Police Department.
If convicted, Love and Krause could face life imprisonment and mandatory lifetime registration as sex offenders.
Officials at ESU-11 have been contacted for comment.
