NASCAR Playoffs Bracket 2025 Point Standings After Talladega Round of 8 Results

Chase Briscoe became the second Joe Gibbs Racing driver to advance to the championship four portion of the NASCAR Cup Series playoffs on Sunday.

Briscoe received a big push from teammate Ty Gibbs to capture the Yellawood 500 at Talladega Superspeedway.

Briscoe and Denny Hamlin are locked into the championship four after two of the three round-of-8 races.

The other six drivers still alive for the Cup Series title have to advance either through a win or points next week at Martinsville.

Briscoe came out on top of a chaotic race at Talladega.

Briscoe pushed to the front with the help of Ty Gibbs to take the lead on the final lap. As Briscoe clinched the race, William Byron slid off the track.

Byron and his Hendrick Motorsports teammates experienced some struggles on Sunday. Chase Elliott was involved in an early wreck and Kyle Larson faded from the front during overtime.

Byron, Elliott, Joey Logano and Ryan Blaney all likely need to win next week at Martinsville in order to advance to the championship four.

Byron is the closest driver to Larson in fourth place, but there is a 36-point gap between the Hendrick teammates.

Four of the six drivers vying for a spot in the championship four finished inside the top 10 at Martinsville in the spring. Christopher Bell had the highest finish of that group in second place.

The four drivers that advance to the championship four from the round-of-8 will fight for the title in the season finale at Phoenix in two weeks.
