According to Sky Germany, Bayern Munich could enter the race for Crystal Palace defender Marc Guehi.
Guehi has been a subject of long-standing interest from Liverpool and saw a Deadline Day move to Anfield collapse this summer. The Premier League champions are expected to return for him – but not before his contract with Palace expires at the end of the season.
The situation has understandably raised a few eyebrows at other top clubs, who view the England international on a free transfer as an incredible opportunity that shouldn’t be missed. Guehi is now reportedly being courted by Real Madrid, and now, his representatives are believed to have held initial discussions with Bayern too.
Palace chairman Steve Parish spoke this summer about the prospect of losing a player like Guehi without compensation, pointing out that it could hardly be considered good business.
But at this point, that scenario seems inevitable. With clubs like Bayern Munich, Real Madrid and Liverpool all pitching their projects to him, the 25-year-old centre-back isn’t likely to even consider signing a new deal at Selhurst Park.
