Manchester City are in advanced discussions over a new contract for their Brazilian winger Savinho, but sources say the deal has not yet been officially confirmed. According to Africa Digital News, the new terms are expected to extend his stay with City beyond his current contract, which runs until 2029.
Savinho, 21, joined City last year from Troyes on a five-year deal. He impressed while on loan at Girona in the 2023-24 season, scoring nine goals and providing ten assists in La Liga, and has since become a regular part of Pep Guardiola’s attacking options.
Reports suggest that the club and the player’s camp are close to agreeing on terms that would see Savinho’s contract last until 2031. But both sides remain cautious, and no official announcement has been made yet.
Recent interest from Tottenham Hotspur has added urgency to the negotiations. Spurs reportedly made offers during the summer, bids which Manchester City rejected in order to keep Savinho in the squad.
City manager Pep Guardiola has publicly expressed his desire for Savinho to remain with the club for “many, many years,” reinforcing City’s confidence in the winger’s potential.
Although terms are close, key details like salary, bonuses, and release clauses are still being finalised. There is no confirmed public disclosure of these specifics as yet.
Until City, Savinho, or his representation confirm the contract in writing, the extension remains a reported possibility rather than a completed deal.
For now, Savinho’s current deal stands until 2029. Once the new contract is formalised, the club will likely issue a statement and include the required filings.
