Arsenal winger Bukayo Saka is next in line for a new contract after sporting director Andrea Berta managed to tie down William Saliba, with a report sharing how much the England star is in line to earn at the Emirates Stadium.
Arsenal agree new William Saliba deal with Bukayo Saka up next
Mikel Arteta was gifted an almighty boost by the news that Saliba has agreed an extension which will keep him at the club until 2030.
Reports suggest the 24-year-old, who was attracting serious interest from Real Madrid, could be on for a huge pay rise of up to £300,000-per-week (Dean Jones) as a result of his new terms — which would make him Arsenal’s highest earner.

It is just reward for a player who has established himself as one of Europe’s finest centre-backs, with Arsenal conceding the fewest goals of any Premier League side in each of the last two seasons thanks to Saliba’s exceptional form with Gabriel.
The defensive duo have formed a near-unbreakable partnership since the beginning of 2022/2023, and managing to keep Saliba out of Real’s clutches sends a very clear message to the rest of Europe — Arsenal are here to stay.
“Arsenal wanted to be fast to avoid Real Madrid trying to enter in the Saliba conversation, to avoid any problems with two years left on his contract, but now a new five-year deal has been agreed between Saliba and Arsenal,” Fabrizio Romano said on his YouTube channel.
“It’s fantastic news for the Gunners. Not just because they keep one of the best players in the squad, not just because it’s Saliba, one of the best players in the world in his position. But because they’re sending a message to the whole squad, to the fans, to the whole Arsenal world, players, staff, fans… This project is not just now. It’s for the long term.
“This is a fantastic project with many important players, with many young players, but also with the ability to keep superstars like Saliba, one of the best in the world in his position, if not the best, with a new long-term contract.”
According to insider ‘HandOfArsenal’, Saliba and Gabriel made a summer pact to remain at Arsenal in pursuit of silverware, with star winger Saka lined up for a new deal after the France international.
The wages Bukayo Saka could earn from new Arsenal deal
Saka has made it clear he wants to sign a new Arsenal contract, in what is another major boost for the north Londoners (Ben Jacobs), and it is now the task of Berta to negotiate favourable terms.
According to Football Transfers, Arsenal are optimistic that they can finalise a new contract with the 24-year-old by Christmas, and Saka is in line to earn around £250,000-per-week to place him among the club’s biggest earners.
That being said, this figure is still behind the likes of Kai Havertz, Gabriel Jesus and now Saliba, and this small detail is expected to be key in discussions. It isn’t ruled out that Berta could go even higher with his salary offer in an attempt to push Saka towards a full agreement in the next few months.
Arsenal are apparently determined to get this resolved soon and Saka’s extension is viewed as a “priority” by Arteta, with talks ongoing and progressing well.
Speaking to the press before their imminent clash against Newcastle United, Arteta made his feelings about Saka crystal clear.
“I would love that,” Arteta said about Saka signing a new deal.
“From everything that I know, again he’s a player that is extremely happy and proud to be [here] and to have the role that he has in the football club. He’s been developing in a natural way like they always do. Everyone knows how important Bukayo is for us so hopefully we can do it.”
The forward has racked up 71 goals and 71 assists in 267 appearances since making his senior debut against Vorskla Poltava in 2018, and was Arsenal’s best-performing player by average match rating in three of their last four Premier League seasons (WhoScored).
His presence is absolutely vital, even if Saka’s struggle with injuries means Arteta needs to be careful with the winger — even more so now that in-form summer signing Noni Madueke will be out for several weeks.
