Global Law Office has recently hired three lawyers to strengthen its life sciences and financing practice. Andrew Chen, former chief representative of Arnold & Porter’s Shanghai office, has joined the PRC firm’s Shanghai branch as a senior counsel, while Li Shengbo and Yang Chen join the team in Shenzhen as partners.
Chen has more than 20 years of legal experience, assisting clients in navigating China and US regulations centred on the pharmaceutical and medical devices sector. Earlier in his career, he worked at the US Food and Drug Administration headquarters and at American biopharmaceutical Amgen. He then pursued roles as an external lawyer, joining Covington as a partner and Arnold & Porter as a chief representative, where he counselled on product licensing, clinical trials and registration applications.
Li focuses on capital markets, private equity and investment funds. He has participated in IPO and M&A projects for mainland companies such as Rayitek, Onewo and Syoung Group. He has provided fund establishment and structuring services for investment institutions such as China Merchants Capital, Shenzhen Investment Holdings Capital and Shenzhen Capital Group. Before joining Global Law Office, Li was at Zhong Lun Law Firm and JunHe.
Yang has extensive experience in investment and financing, M&A and overseas listings, with a practice covering the healthcare and life sciences, semiconductor, and technology, media and telecommunications sectors. In the past three years, he has participated in numerous cross-border transactions, assisting companies with overseas investment projects in Europe, the US and Southeast Asia. Previously, he practised at Han Kun Law Offices and JunHe.
