Phil Parkinson tells fans to remember Wrexham’s journey amid speculation on his future after beating Norwich 3-2 on Saturday.
Wrexham produced a comeback to defeat, having trailed at half time. After Jack Stacey’s goal for Norwich, Wrexham hit back with three second-half goals.
Josh Windass, who came back injury, scored twice, with Ryan Longman also on the scoresheet, securing Wrexham’s second Championship win of the season.
Jovon Makama’s late goal was a mere consolation for Norwich, who pick up their fourth straight home loss across all competitions.
This victory sees (15th) Wrexham move level on points with (14th) Norwich in the Championship standings.

There was a lot of speculation to Phil Parkinson’s future as Wrexham manager, with the club’s non-executive director Shaun Harvey labelling aspects of it as “an absolute disgrace”.
A report claimed talks had been held among the Championship club’s hierarchy over the 57-year-old manager’s situation as a result of Wrexham having a ‘disappointing’ start to the 2025-26 season.
But Harvey has since rubbished those claims, adding that Phil Parkinson has the full support of all of the key decision makers.
“It’s an absolute disgrace,” Harvey said while on the Fearless in Devotion podcast.
“We’ve got to face the facts. There is going to be speculation … What’s going on at Wrexham?
“Is there disappointment in results, yeah. We’re disappointed we haven’t got four points at this moment in time.
“But to start quoting discussions and meetings that have taken place is the bit that’s the disgrace. It’s just nonsense.
“Phil has everybody at the club’s full support. know before somebody starts writing headlines — ‘Harvey gives Parkinson the vote of confidence’ — that is not the vote of confidence.

“What I’m saying is, he’s got our full support. You can only give somebody a vote of confidence when you’ve actually discussed the future. It’s not even been on anywhere near an agenda as yet.
“So, if that day comes, the decision has to be taken. But Phil’s our man.
“We’ve backed him from the start. We backed him from four years ago. We’ve had all the success under that regime. Why should we start panicking now?
“Phil’s our man, we’re standing by him. He needs to be given time to move us back up the table, to give us the best chance of success. On the day we’ve got a problem, we’ll deal with it then. But, gosh, we’re a long way from that at the moment.
“They (Rob and Ryan) sanctioned the sacking of Dean Keates [in 2021], so they’ve got 100% record of being involved in the big decisions. They will have an opinion and be involved in that process.”
After beating Norwich, Parky said: “My message to everybody in football is that four years ago we came to East Anglia – it was King’s Lynn away (6-2 National League win at The Walks in November 2021) in front of 800 people.
“We’ve turned up at Carrow Road in front of 26,000 against a really good team with a top manager and come away with a victory. That’s how far we’ve come so quickly, and people sometimes forget that.
“First of all, I don’t listen to any outside talk. I don’t know where that (speculation) came from but I’ve had nothing but unbelievable support from everybody.
“It’s not just about me. We’ve had periods in all my time at Wrexham where people have doubted us and we’ve got stronger as a group – not just the players, the staff and the owners, and we’ve come through the other side of it.
“This is a good result. We’ve got work to do, we know that.
“I’ve managed over 1,000 games so if people really think I listen to what people say on social media, then I don’t think I’d be stood here because if you do get involved in that, it’s very difficult to continue to be a manager.
“So I block everything out, concentrate on the people that I trust and the people that have given me great support at the football club – and this is a good day for us.”
On the game, speaking to BBC Radio Wales, he added: “It was a good performance from us. We’re a work in progress and we showed signs today that we’re a really good side.
“We gave debuts to players, changed the shape of the team and it’s the first time we’ve been able to do that.
“I’m obviously delighted with the way the lads have trained this week, the way they implemented what we’ve spoken about and put it into practice.
“The work ethic of the team was great but the quality of our play was very good today, but you’re going to get that with the higher level of players we were able to put into the team.”
Norwich’s Liam Manning said: “The words that come to mind are anger, frustration and disappointment.
“We were not good enough. Too many elements of our play were not good enough.
“We were just too passive for my liking – both when defending and when we had the ball. We have got to get back to basics – be hard to beat and a lot better with the ball.
“When we conceded early in the second half we needed to stand up to be counted, to ensure we didn’t concede so easily again, but that didn’t happen.
“We needed to give the crowd something to get behind and we didn’t too that for long enough.
“Now it’s a case of reflecting honestly, sticking together and making sure we start moving forward again.”

Here’s how Twitter users reacted as Phil Parkinson tells fans to remember Wrexham’s journey amid speculation on his future…
@DaveRowe292: Memories are often very short in football amongst the fans and the past is often forgotten and discarded; except for ‘The Summer of 2016’….that will never be forgotten or discarded! 👊🏼🏴🥳
@GeorgeSpibbins: What an awesome gaffer. Just a total man amongst men.
@tjcefn: A msg to EVERYONE in football, this year was always going to be tough, more new players than ever. This click bait rubbish is trying to derail the manager who has worked miracles. Money doesn’t always buy success, he’s built a dressing room 👏👏🏴 @Wrexham_AFC @fearlessidzine
@WxmBob: Perspective & context is crucial; can’t get too high or too low which is why “rumours” about his future are total bollocks. Clickbait from random “ITK” accounts are just that. We heard it from the horse’s mouth (Shaun Harvey) that “Phil is our man”. #WxmAFC
@gavlea82: Today’s result was huge for us. Massive confidence boost. Some cracking football against a top side. Back the boys and back Phil Parkinson. We go again. UP THE TOWN !! #WxmAFC #Wrexham
@78Spirit: Go on Parky lad. Keeping it real 👊
@Annetteg1964: Absolutely. I was one of those 800. We had a warm welcome in their clubhouse. I am loving every minute of the football we’re playing now and the grounds we are visiting. Up the town!
Grateful for where we are and enjoying supporting the team.
@allybrown74: Well put. 3 years ago we were playing teams that nobody knew where they were. Remember Fred saying ‘Where is Dorking’. UPST…….
@Sarah_C67: Absolutely this!
@gac768: Quite right. Some people need a gentle reminder from time to time.
@CariadFfisio: Sick and tired reading about Phil Parkinson and his job being on the line, yes it’s been a tough start but we always expected this
@KingBuxton13: Had the same conversation with my old man over a beer today
@stu_woj: Parky knows the score!
