Los Angeles Rams 26-33 Philadelphia Eagles
Jordan Davis blocked Joshua Karty’s game-winning field-goal attempt as time expired and returned it for a touchdown as the Philadelphia Eagles rallied for to victory.
It was the second consecutive blocked field goal of the game for the Eagles (3-0), who overcame a sluggish first half and erased a 19-point, second-half deficit to stun the Rams (2-1).
Trailing 26-7, Jalen Hurts threw his first three touchdown passes of the season. The last, to DeVonta Smith with 1:48 left, gave Philadelphia a 27-26 lead but the two-point conversion failed.
Matthew Stafford drove the Rams 44 yards in 10 plays to set up Karty’s 44-yard attempt before Davis delivered the heroic walk-off play. Jalen Carter had blocked Karty’s 36-yard try with 8:46 left.
Held to 33 yards of offense in the first half, Philadelphia improbably rebounded for their 12th straight home win and 19th victory in their last 20 games overall, including last season’s run to a Super Bowl championship.
Dallas Cowboys 14-31 Chicago Bears
Caleb Williams tied a career high with four touchdown passes and the Chicago Bears (1-2) gave Ben Johnson his first win as a head coach by beating the Dallas Cowboys (1-2). The Bears got a win they sorely needed coming off a 52-21 blowout loss at Detroit. Johnson called out his team’s practice habits during the week. But he had to like what he saw against the Cowboys. Johnson’s offense broke off several big plays in racking up 385 yards. It added up to a rough day for Dallas defensive coordinator Matt Eberflus in his first appearance at Soldier Field since the Bears fired him as head coach last November.
Green Bay Packers 10-13 Cleveland Browns
Andre Szmyt kicked a 55-yard field goal as time expired and the Cleveland Browns rallied from a 10-0 deficit with under four minutes left to beat the Green Bay Packers.
The Browns (1-2) snapped an eight-game losing streak dating to last season when it appeared for much of the game they might be shut out. But the defense kept them in it with four sacks and came up with the key turnover which resulted in it being tied.
Green Bay (2-1) appeared as if they might win with a last-minute field goal when they drove to the Browns 25, but Shelby Harris blocked a 43-yard field goal attempt by Brandon McManus and Greg Newsome II recovered at the 47.
Cleveland took over and went 16 yards in five plays. Joe Flacco had an eight-yard completion on third-and-two to get the ball to the Packers 35. Flacco then spiked the ball, bringing Szmyt on with two seconds remaining. It was redemption for the rookie kicker, who missed an extra point and field goal in a 17-16 loss to Cincinnati in Week 1.
New York Jets 27–29 Tampa Bay Buccaneers
Incredibly, there were more crucial blocked field goals on Sunday. Chase McLaughlin’s fifth field goal was a 36-yarder with no time remaining to give the Tampa Bay Buccaneers victory over the visiting New York Jets.
McLaughlin’s winning kick came after the Buccaneers (3-0) blew a 17-point, fourth-quarter lead. New York (0-3) went ahead by a point when Will McDonald IV blocked a field goal and scored on a 50-yard return with 1:49 remaining. Jamel Dean returned an interception for touchdown and Baker Mayfield threw a touchdown pass to Mike Evans as the Buccaneers recorded their first 3-0 start since 2005. Mayfield completed 19 of 29 passes for 233 yards.
Pittsburgh Steelers 21-14 New England Patriots
Aaron Rodgers threw a go-ahead 17-yard touchdown pass to Calvin Austin III with 2:16 left, and the Pittsburgh Steelers (2-1) beat the New England Patriots (1-2). Rodgers passed for 139 yards and two touchdowns, Kenneth Gainwell ran for a one-yard TD and the Steelers’ defense forced five turnovers to help Pittsburgh win at New England for the first time since 2008. The Steelers had lost four since then in Foxborough, including the AFC championship game in the 2016 season. The Patriots were driving with a chance to tie and had fourth-and-one at the Pittsburgh 28, but DeMario Douglas caught a pass from Drake Maye and was stopped for a one-yard loss. Rodgers also moved into fourth place in career NFL TD passes with 510. He trails Tom Brady (649), Drew Brees (571) and Peyton Manning (539).
Denver Broncos 20–23 Los Angeles Chargers
Justin Herbert found Keenan Allen for a tying touchdown with 2:44 remaining and then led Los Angeles into position for Cameron Dicker’s game-ending 43-yard field goal as the Chargers beat the Denver Broncos for their first 3-0 start since 2002. After Herbert eluded the Broncos’ pass rush and connected with Allen, Bo Nix and the Broncos went three-and-out. That set up Herbert and the Chargers on their 32, and he went 4 of 4 on the final drive. Herbert was 28 of 47 for 300 yards with the TD and one interception. The Broncos fell to 1-2.
New Orleans Saints 13–44 Seattle Seahawks
Rookie Tory Horton returned a punt 95 yards for a touchdown – the longest punt return in Seahawks franchise history – and caught one of Sam Darnold’s two TD passes in Seattle’s rout of the winless New Orleans Saints. Kenneth Walker III ran for two TDs for the Seahawks (2-1), with the first set up by another big play on special teams. D’Anthony Bell blocked a punt by Kai Kroeger deep in New Orleans territory, and Walker’s three-yard run gave Seattle a 21-0 first-quarter lead. Seattle led 38-6 at the break for the second-highest-scoring half in franchise history. The Saints’ Spencer Rattler fell to 0-9 as a starter.
Arizona Cardinals 15–16 San Francisco 49ers
Eddy Pineiro has kicked a 35-yard field goal to give the San Francisco 49ers a narrow win over the Arizona Cardinals. This marks the 49ers’ third straight win to open the season. San Francisco overcame an injury to Nick Bosa and the absence of starting quarterback Brock Purdy. Rookie Upton Stout broke up a pass to force a punt, allowing Mac Jones to lead a game-winning drive. The Cardinals had taken the lead with a rare tiebreaking safety in the fourth quarter. Both teams traded touchdowns in the fourth quarter, but Pineiro’s kick sealed the victory.
Las Vegas Raiders 24–41 Washington Commanders
A reconfigured Commanders (2-1) offense led by quarterback Marcus Mariota produced 201 yards on the ground, 174 in the first half alone, to help Washington beat the Las Vegas Raiders (1-2). Mariota filled in for an injured Jayden Daniels, making his first NFL start since 2022 with Atlanta. He went 15 for 21 for 207 yards through the air and ran six times for 40 yards, including a two-yard TD. Washington scored via a 43-yard TD pass by Mariota, a 60-yard run by Jeremy McNichols, a one-yard plunge by Jacory “Bill” Croskey-Merritt and a 90-yard punt return by Jaylin Lane. Raiders QB Geno Smith threw three TD passes to Tre Tucker and was sacked five times.
Houston Texans 10–17 Jacksonville Jaguars
Trevor Lawrence found Brian Thomas Jr for a 46-yard gain, Travis Etienne scored on the next play and the Jacksonville Jaguars held on to beat the Houston Texans . It was Jacksonville’s first win over the Texans at home since 2017. Houston had won 12 of the previous 14 in the AFC South series. This one was decided on the final two drives. The Jaguars (2-1) got a huge play from Lawrence to Thomas, and then the Texans (0-3) seemingly let Etienne score from 10 yards out with 1:48 remaining. CJ Stroud drove Houston into striking distance, but Josh Hines-Allen tipped his pass and Antonio Johnson intercepted the wobbler to seal the victory.
Cincinnati Bengals 10–48 Minnesota Vikings
Isaiah Rodgers helped make Carson Wentz’s debut at quarterback for Minnesota (2-1) a rousing success. Rodgers set a Vikings record with two defensive touchdowns and forced three of Cincinnati’s five turnovers in a romp that was the worst loss in Bengals history. Jordan Mason rushed for 116 yards and two scores on just 16 attempts, Will Reichard made a 62-yard field goal – the longest in Vikings history – as the first half ended and Wentz threw for two touchdowns over three quarters. Jake Browning was picked off twice in a rough start for the Bengals (2-1), who missed Joe Burrow in their first game since their quarterback had toe surgery.
Indianapolis Colts 41–20 Tennessee Titans
Daniel Jones threw for 228 yards and a touchdown while Jonathan Taylor rushed for 102 yards and three scores as the visiting Indianapolis Colts stayed unbeaten with a lop-sided win over the Tennessee Titans. Jones completed 18 of 25 passes as Indianapolis (3-0) cruised through their first road game of the year. The Colts led for all but 49 seconds of the game, although they did have to punt for the first time this year at the 9:13 mark of the second quarter. Tennessee rookie Cam Ward connected on 23 of 38 passes for 219 yards and a touchdown, along with an interception that Kenny Moore II returned 32 yards for a score on the game’s third play. The Titans (0-3) are 3-17 since the start of the 2024 season.
Atlanta Falcons 0-30 Carolina Panthers
The Carolina Panthers (1-2) earned their first win of the season, defeating the Atlanta Falcons 30-0. Bryce Young ran for a touchdown, while Chau Smith-Wade returned an interception for a score. Rookie Ryan Fitzgerald contributed with three field goals. Young completed 16 of 24 passes for 121 yards, avoiding turnovers after struggling in previous games. The Panthers intercepted Michael Penix Jr twice and forced three turnovers. The Falcons (1-2) struggled offensively, with Bijan Robinson being the lone standout with 111 yards from scrimmage. It was Carolina’s first shutout since 2020.
