Located just outside Sarasota, Florida, IMG Academy was founded by late notable tennis coach Nick Bollettieri. At IMG, Bollettieri trained over 10 world-renowned tennis stars, including Venus and Serena Williams and Andre Agassi. In terms of junior tennis, this is one of the best camps in the United States.
IMG is well-known for its youth programs, which are tailored towards kids ages eight to 18 and all skill levels. These training camps are designed to mix conditioning with tactical drills, thus improving players’ form, top spin, and ball control in a manner that compliments their off-season training schedule. For children who are struggling with fundamental techniques, coaches like Weylou Chang focus on rigorous yet achievable drill work, where players can advance from perfecting their ready position to rallying in no time. The training camp also stresses the value of teamwork and fair match play.
Just steps from the training center is Legacy Hotel, the academy’s premier resort for athletes. With indoor and outdoor swimming pools, an on-site restaurant, and plenty of gathering spaces, Legacy Hotel shines in its sense of community among both young athletes and parents. For those looking for a bit of relaxation, the academy is just 20 minutes from Anna Maria Island by car, for a quick beach vacation without venturing too far from the property.

Claudio Adolfssen is the head coach at the Mouratoglou Tennis Center at The Ritz-Carlton Naples, Tiburón, the sister program to Mouratoglou’s flagship in France. The center has nestled itself inside one of Florida’s largest communities of retirees, with the goal of making tennis more accessible to the public. “We focus on strengths first, helping players feel confident and enjoy the game,” he says. “From there, we build new skills and strategies.”
In terms of the logistics, the program is unique in that, unlike most schedules that split training into a couple two-hour sessions, Mouratoglou in Naples focuses on a singular three-hour session per day. That session starts at 9 a.m., with lunch at Ría shortly afterward. Similar to Mouratouglou, Adolfssen says the program is designed for everyone, from first-timers to advanced players. Newcomers can borrow racquets from the center, while experienced players are welcome to bring their own.
Mouratoglou also stands out for its flexibility: There are intensive one-day-only camps that can be booked back to back during the week, or you can choose the two-day weekend camp. Players will typically relax on the beach in the afternoons, then enjoy dinner, live music, and cocktails at Bella Vista Lounge in the evening.
